The Aether *is* Real, and I Can Prove It !!! (2011)
How
do we know if something is real?
What
does the currently established "theory" of electromagnetic field
propagation say ?
What
could the *correct* theory "do" for us ?
Something
is real if we can detect, or, even better, measure it. For example, the Earth's
magnetic field is about 1/2 Gauss, and can be detected with a simple Boy Scout
compass.
Note
that there is nothing "there" ! The field exists, and causes real
effects like a compass to point North, even though there is no magnetic
"wind" which actually moves particles around.
The
currently accepted "theory" of E+M radiation is that there is *no*
aether. This means that there is no way an orthogonal wave can propagate to,
for example, transfer energy from our Sun, 93 million Miles to the earth. These
types of waves require a media of some sort for propagation.
The
"theory" does not say *why* waves propagate, nor why the speed
of light is an absolute constant. In fact, it incorrectly "predicts"
that different frequency waves should have different velocities, and, again,
the speed of light could end up to be any arbitrary velocity - say 100 MPH.
A
theory proposed by the *true* inventor of radio, Mr. Nikola Tesla, said that
E+M fields *must* have "something" to propagate through. Let us see
if we can use this theory to predict, *without* any AC measurements, to
correctly predict the speed of light.
I
am working with an excellent book: "Modern Electronic Communication",
Eighth Edition, by Jeffrey Beasley, and Gary Miller. I highly recommend this
book to learn practical radio electronics.
On
page 615, the characteristic impedance of free space is calculated. Although
only an AC impedance, DC only measurements are used to determine this. First,
the capacitance of two parallel plates is measured. This is clearly a static DC value.
The
permittivity of free space is epsilon = 8.85 E-12 F/m.
Next,
the static magnetic field around a wire that carries only a DC current is
measured. This, too, is a DC measurement.
The
permeability of free space is mu = 1.26E-6 H/m.
Note: Since

Equation
13-5 says that the impedance of a wave conduction Media is:

= (mu/epsilon)^(1/2)
Or,
in conventional units, 377 Ohms.
The
book also reminds the reader that: "Thus, you can see that free space *has*
intrinsic impedance, similar to a transmission line".
Let
us now see if we can actually find the speed of light, assuming the
transmission line model of "free" space is true:
We
now go back to page 570.
The
formula for the speed of propagation of a wave is:
Vp = d/(LC)^(1/2)
Let
us use mu for L, and epsilon for C.
Vc =
2.99E8 m/s (*exactly* right !)
Again,
note that we have the exact value of the speed of *any* radio or light wave,
but we *never* did an AC, time dependent measurement.
OK,
what does this mean ?
Clearly,
the "vacuum" has "physical" characteristics ! It has
been proposed that, just like AC impedance, space should impart a physical
resistance to movement of matter. This physical inertia is thought to be due to
a so-called "Higgs Boson". This is one of the objectives of the new LHC
particle accelerator at CERN, in Switzerland, which started operation in 2009.
I
predict that either this Boson or a similar "particle" is responsible
for the uniquely constant speed of light. It might be possible, somehow, to
vary the speed of light, allowing "warp drive" to carry astronauts
far in excess of the high, but not high enough, "limiting" speed of
light.
We
still do not know exactly what gravity is. Einstein said it is a curvature of
space caused by the mass of a body, but we also still do not understand where
rest mass itself comes from.
We
do know that 70 % of our Universe is some sort of anti-gravity AKA “Dark
Energy”, but again, we do not know where this comes from, or why the effect
only started to be significant billions of years after the so-called ‘Big Bang’
beginning of our Universe.
In
fact, the nothing that became our universe was initially pushed very hard for
the first 6 minutes of existence. Was this a type of temporary Dark Energy
effect ? We do not know.
Gravity
Probe B recently confirmed “frame dragging” of the earth due to its rotation in
space. *if* there is no aether, what exactly does the earth drag around?
The
bottom line here is that there is a lot of research to do, but clearly it is
possible to change the characteristics of “empty” space. If natural processes
can do it, we should also be able to control space and create “warp drive” –
based on the realization that the aether *is* all around us.
